I want to know if people recommend buying a MacBook through NSIT. Do they offer the add-ons at a lower price (ie. memory, hard drive, pre-installed Iwork etc)?

Any good experiences?

Any Bad?

Go to the website and do your own shopping. You don't need to be an insider to go to their website. Any good prospective UofC student should be able to get to the prices in a minute or less. If you can't find it that quickly, consider another school (just kidding. If you can't find it, repost and I'll post the link...)

newmassdad: Thanks for the very good chuckle!

When buying hardware the Campus Computer Store is just a proxy for Apple. You can still get the educational discount via Apple and you'll have more configuration options.

shrug

No big difference on way or another.

It's nice to be able to shop in the store, though, instead of going to the overcrowded Apple Store downtown.

Before you buy software, though, check with CCS to see if they license it to students. You could get a copy of Microsoft Office for $15.

You can purchase custom built hardware from the on-line Apple Education store. I believe this is to what Diocletian may have been referring.

Remember to add as much RAM as you can afford and don't buy it from Apple, others sell it much cheaper; see: www.ramseeker.com.

yeah, I found it, much thanks

It's $25 now. They increased the price two years ago, I think. Still cheap, though.
