Mac vs Hp vs Dell Also lenevo Thinkpad Tablet

Hey guys,
I am a Biology major on the pre-med track and in need of a laptop. I originally looked at MBP's but now leaning towards windows (Hp and Dells). I am also about 95% sure I am getting the Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet. I would take handwritten notes using the tablet while in class. What are your thoughts, should I go with a Mac or Windows, and which windows laptop is the best brand for under $700. Also what is your opinion on the Tablet. Thanks for the help.

**sorry for the mispelling of lenovo in the question

Don’t get a Dell. They’re cheap and flimsy.

so what do you suggest I do?

I have a Samsung QX411, and they’re rather nice. That’s all the opinion I can really give. I personally would hold off on Macs, because one that costs the same as my Samsung (~$800) provides maybe a quarter of the beef.

The QX411’s actually rather beefy, and is pretty good for gaming. It’s got two GPUs; an Intel HD Graphics 3000 that’s used whenever you’re not doing anything graphically intensive (i.e. organizing your files), and a high-powered (but battery-eating) nVidia GeForce 520M that kicks in whenever you launch anything like a game. You can configure individual programs to use either, though.

also what about using a wacom intuos tablet for note taking it is rather small and i could take it everywhere i go i would use this to take handwritten notes in class what are your opinions?

If you get an Android tablet, do the following;

Get the LectureNotes app and a stylus

Get the ezPDF Reader (it has very good annotating features!)

Get a portable Bluetooth keyboard and a stand (Logitech makes a nice one, dunno the name)

Get as many textbooks or readings as you can in PDF format

Develop good textbook highlighting/annotating habits and good note-taking habits

Hope that helps.
