<p>Does it really matter? Macs can run Windows too, you know. Or Linux for that matter. I’d base my buying decision on how you like the physical keyboard and trackpad personally. That and budget, of course. </p>
<p>I’d lean towards running Linux day-to-day on campus, primarily because of issues surrounding the annoying ‘Cisco Clean Access’. I’m also a Computer Science student, who needs to have a local copy of good Unix system (OSX works rather nicely for that too, for any CSCs, SEs or CPEs out there). Something you should consider. Plus, having a boot disk on hand if your are living in the dorms is always nice for dealing with the random problems the Cisco Clean Access agent sometimes has.</p>
