<p>I wanted to see what my chances were for Macalester. It is such a wonderful college and by far my first choice</p>

+Upper middle class
+Live in minnesota
+Suburban competitive public school known for outstanding students
+3.7 out of 4.0 GPA
+College level classes, though most not AP
+Highly involved in french club, theatre, music
+Drama club executive, several lead roles in plays, all conference band for flute, volunteer leader at sunday school, leader for 2 years in a social activist theatre group, in NHS, and public representitive for my school's NAHS chapter, headed 4 commitees for homecoming week
+along with my application and required writing I am sending several writing samples (poetry, mostly), my art portfolio, and a recording of my school's jazz band in which I am the bassist. I may send some other things, if I have enough time. </p>

<p>I hope to apply early decision.</p>

<p>Also, if there are any people who got into Mac with a similar financial situation, how was the aid? Is Mac generous? Input on their aid is greatly appreciated.</p>

<p>I took a campus tour there this summer, it might have just been the tour guide, but I really didn't like macalester at all, it seemed rather..i don't know exactly just had bad vibes. but whatever floats your boat. free bump</p>
