Hey guys, I’m applying to Mac ED this year and thought I would create this thread for ED applicants as well.
My daughter applied to Mac ED – and if she gets in, I’m sure she’ll join this thread!
anyone guessing the notification date? Its almost here
D just got her ED acceptance and a 42k financial aid package!
YES! My D got her big news last night too! And generous merit!
can you tell your daughters’ stats? i’m deferred… so disappointed
33 ACT. 4.65 weighted gpa. 3.94 unweighted. 3 AP–this is low for our school. But, she has 13 years of language study since 6th grade–French, Italian and Japanese.
ED2 decisions in a week earlier than expected! D got in with a DeWitt Wallace Distinguished Scholarship! Good luck everyone!
Got my news last night. I’M ACCEPTED!!! I also received a DeWitt scholarship as well! Mac 2021!

@ambitious07 D’s stats:
GPA: (not sure how to convert to 4.0 scale) approximately 95 UW, 104W
IB Diploma student
Old SAT 1930 CR 680 M 580 W 670
ECs average. 8 years of an instrument with participation in several music festivals and a youth orchestra, NHS, music and French honor societies, some volunteering, and that’s about it.
Her letters of recommendation were probably really good, and she had a great interview when we visited. I thought her supplemental essay was really good considering she does not have an interesting ethnic background that would have made writing the essay much easier.
I was really worried that aside from her transcript, she wouldn’t be “impressive” enough for Macalester. Happy to say we were wrong! Best of luck to you!!!
