how is it at the college of staten island?
From what point of view?
Would you be living in the residence halls?
What major?
What are your stats?
Sorry my post isn’t clear. I was already accepted and am currently deciding where to attend in the fall. If you have any input on any aspect that would be great. I think I will be doing Engineering Science (definitely looking to do grad studies after undergrad)
Are you a NYS/NYC resident?
Would you be living on campus or commuting?
What are you comparing it to?
NYC resident, likely commuting, nyu or hofstra
ok.
It’s mostly commuter so you’ll be in the majority. Most classes in the regular college are relatively easy; you’ve got to take some Honors Science and Math classes if you’re a STEM major. Since you’re Macaulay you’ve got your honors seminars + I assume Verrazano/honors classes.
It’d be equivalent to Hofstra, probably at a much better price.
Compared to NYU, CSI is less prestigious and “connected”. But if you’re Macaulay and you commute, it means you have essentially to pay for books/food and transportation… that’d make it hard to beat.
Check that Engineering at CSI is ABET accredited as it’s necessary to be recognized as an engineer (and thus get a job).
