just got my general rejection email. absolutely devastated. applied for hunter. very much do not want to go to my safety school, was banking on macaulay for its financial benefits.

reminder to those who were rejected that even though it feels like a failure, it’s just another step to getting to where you need to be. where you need to be and where you want to be sometimes doesn’t match up. buck up, camper.

I’m really sorry to hear that. Don’t give up on going to the school you want, you can do like I did and drop out and reapply or transfer or decide on a gap year instead. It’s not so bad!

If I’ not mistaken, CUNY-Hunter College gives 2-years of free Room & Board for Macaulay Honor students. CUNY-CCNY gives one year free Room & Board for “high stats” Macaulay Honor students.

Demand is high, so we cannot guarantee that you will be provided with a room if you did not select one at the beginning of your freshman year.

Since you did not initially select the free dorm room (the dorm room is free only for the first two years, during the fall and spring semesters), you will be charged for living in the dorm.

Beginning with the class of 2015 (those who begin to matriculate in the fall of 2011), students accepted to the Macaulay Honors College at Hunter College **will have the option of a free Brookdale Residence Hall room for up to two years, excluding summers. This option for a free room for two years applies only to the fall and spring terms. **

Students will have dorm access for their third and fourth years, but they will be charged for the room at the Brookdale Residence Hall. The Director of Financial Aid will provide a list of loans to eligible students who are not able to pay for the dorm room in their third and fourth years.

This arrangement is subject to continued availability of the Brookdale Residence Hall.

My daughter got accepted at Brooklyn College and also was lucky to get accepted into the Macauly honors program. Does anyone know how the sciences are at Brooklyn College? I would appreciate any feedback. Thank you.
