I'm currently a junior at high school and i was wondering about my chances for the Macaulay honors program. I have a
-3.89 weighted gpa
-haven't taken the sat yet but i know i'll break a 2000
sat 2 in world history - 720
-part of the national honor society
-took ap world history in 10th grade- got a 5
-taking ap us history, ap human geo and ap lang this yr
-ap calc ab, ap gov and politics, ap macro, ap pysch, ap lit senior yr
-have over 200 hrs of community service at a hospital
-2 leadership positions for clubs
-was part of mock trial team, amnesty international, freshman focus
-numerous regional/state/national awards for history day

i dont know if the program takes into account your financial situation: im quite luckier than most; my parents salaries combined add up to about $200,000. i also go to a really good and competitive high school.

i was also wondering if applying to a certain cuny school increases your chances of getting into the program
i know that a lot of people apply to baruch and hunter, so should i apply to a school like queens? will that better my chances of getting into the program? i'm super confused about how the whole process goes

i just want to know if i should even try to apply to this program, i'd really love to get in but if its impossible then there's no point.
thanks!
