Hey all, I have a dilemma. I applied to Macaulay Honors thinking it was a cool opportunity and I might as well try! The thing is, though, I want to get out of NYC for college so I’m not even sure I would want to go to a CUNY in the first place but I figured it’s such a cool opportunity (especially financially), might as well see, right?
I got a full tuition scholarship to another school I really like, and even if I got Macaulay I’m fairly certain (not 100% but pretty sure) that I would choose that school over Macaulay. Should I withdraw my Macaulay app? (Is it even possible to at this point or is it too late, as decisions come out in a few short weeks?) I feel like that would be a good idea bc I don’t want to risk taking a spot from someone who really wants it (I know I’m saying that as if I think I’ll actually get it haha I know it’s super hard to, I’m just thinking about “what ifs”). I’ve heard there’s a waitlist for Macaulay tho, so if I theoretically got it but declined it, would the opportunity go to someone else?? Because on the other hand, I’ve put in a lot of work for this and I want to see it through.
Anyone have any thoughts?? Just trying to mull it over and think out loud!
If you are certain that you will not want to go then I would withdraw
Yes, if you are certain you will not go, withdraw. Others are waiting for your spot.
