So I come from a very busy city and I’m worried that the Macdonald campus at McGill will not suit me - but I have been accepted to the Faculty of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences and that is where I must be taking my first year classes if I accept my offer. I heard it’s rather rural and detached from the main downtown campus. I’m also worried because I’ve been told that a lot of the main campus students look down and make fun of those from the Mac campus. Is Ste. Anne de Bellevue a very small town? What are the residences at Macdonald like - would a person accustomed to the city like me be okay? I haven’t been able to find much information online, most information pertaining to McGill refer to the main campus and that’s quite distressing for someone like me trying to find out about a place that I may be spending my next four years at!
Mac campus is in Ste. Anne de Bellvue on the western tip of the island. It is more suburban edge rather than rural. If you are planning to study Ag/Env then that is where you will be. If it was your second choice after being denied for Life Sciences downtown, you can transfer after your freshman year----if you have the grades!

Mac campus may be “looked down on” in that it is the second choice for some Life Sciences applicants who were denied downtown.
