macs at cornell

I'll be a freshman at Cornell this fall and I'm struggling over which laptop to buy - I've been a PC user forever but am considering a powerbook. I have heard that Cornell's Bear Access system, as well as their free napster account, cannot be run on macs...is this generally a problem for students?

Also, I will be needing to run programs like Dreamweaver and Paint Shop Pro while at school (non school-related) - will I be able to run them with good speed on a powerbook? Or at least get equally good programs for mac?

Lastly, is it diffilcult to move documents, photos, etc. from a PC to a mac? (especially all my website files that I currently format with Dreamweaver)

THANKS!!! (I know these computer questions have been asked a million times)

BTW, I've read nearly all the other threads on this topic, so I know: people do use macs at cornell with little problems; apple is coming out with the MacTel in a few months; many PC programs can be run on mac computers; and mac computers are amazing, perfect, infallible, (insert overly complimentary word here), etc....so I don't need that repeated.

go to www.macromedia.com and look and see if they offer a Mac version of their software. thats all the answer I know, as i'm not a mac<->PC convert.

there's bear access for macs. Atleast that's what i believe i have on my powerbook right now.

Also, there's alot of programs available for macs.

I have the creative suite program packet and i have photoshop included in it.

i am, however, pretty sure the napster thing isnt mac-able

if worst comes to worst, buy the PC for Mac program. Problem solved! I just got my powerbook a few months ago, and it's easily worlds better than any PC i've ever owned.
