Made a Horrible mistake in my UW essay! help?

I was re reading all of my applications and i came across the University of Washington, Seattle essay and I made a very horrible mistake.
The mistake is that I missed out a word(verb) which is now screwing me up. The sentence i wrote was,' the coach me the captain of the team. Unfortunately, i missed the word "appointed". :(
I don't know why but will this mistake kill my application?

PS- i am an international applicant

I think they’ll figure out what you mean  one little mistake won’t make them reject you

No it won’t kill your application. I am sure the admission committee has seen this kind of stuff before and your application isn’t the first. Having said that, they do expect the applicants to be absolutely perfect especially in terms of avoiding typos and stuff. But don’t worry, they take a wholesome approach to their application decisions and a college essay isn’t the only thing they look at.

I doubt a typo will make or break your decision. If they’re REALLY on the fence about you, it could sway them, but I HIGHLY doubt that will be a factor.

I just hope they overlook it. I am getting so tensed about it :(

Thebeatlestoday: i didn’t get you?

I would assume everyone gets one or two typos with no penalty.

1 missing verb is not going to make or break the essay.

They might even read it as if the verb was there – you know, how you complete missing words sometimes. In any case, there’s nothing you can do so please stop stressing, for your own good.

I hope your missing verb will be a funny story to tell in about 3 months :)

It’s not going to kill you.

^hahah. Fingers crossed
