Okey I think it's the right time to begin some school search. Among those well-known girl schools like EW, MPS, .. I think Madeira is also an outstanding girl school. Anyone here studying at MS could tell me more about the school, its unique features and maybe the international students there, .. ?
Thanx in advance

I have heard all GOOD about Madeira, although its not first hand knowledge. Certainly amongst the girls schools it stands out, as do the two others you mentioned.
Plus, they have have riding..:)

It seems like a good school :)
It's an all girls horse school I think, those are always nice.

Thanks you guy a lot!
I think that among those girl schools Madeira can be ranked as safety while EW, MPS are dream schools for me.
I really want someone who has been in Madeira tell me more about it.

This is a good question you ask, and I hope someone responds who has first hand information for you. My impression is that it is just as demanding as the other two, so to think of it as a safety school over those two may not be correct. Dont quote me. Just my impression. I'm also in the process of looking at the best all girls schools, for my D, as well as riding schools and so called top tier schools. I have from several good resources that Madeira is an excellent school.

Do a search for Madeira School. There was a poster - Inspiration08 - or something like that who is at Madeira. My daughter visited and interviewed there three years ago. She ended up not applying because we were not sure about the strength of the science program. I was also concerned about the number of boarders who stayed on campus on weekends. We did not live close enough for her to come home every weekend and it seemed like the campus may empty out. My daughter was also not a rider so the attraction of the riding program was not a plus for her.
I did think the required internship program was awesome. By the end of four years, I think, a student would have had many meaningful opportunities. The campus is stunning - very beautiful looking over the head of the Potamac. There is easy access to Washington. Overall there are many benefits to this school. It just wasn't the right one for my daughter.

Thanks shelley14!
Your daughter is some ways exactly like me. I do care a lot about the science program of each school, and plus I am also not a rider. What I want to say is Madeira to me seems to be a new and excellent school, and its selective rates is not very high like MPS's or EW's.
