Hello. My S was accepted EA to JMU and it is absolutley his first choice and in his mind - only choice! However, he has received a very sizeable scholarship from another large university that has much higher tuition than JMU but after the scholarship ends up being a good deal less than JMU. I see from the website that the only Merit Scholarship is the Madison Acheivement. Does anyone have any details about this/received it? I am told we may not know until 4/15 if he is awarded this scholarship. I am so torn only because he would be devastated if he could not attend JMU and even the small Madison Acheivement would make a difference!

Hi NJMOM, MDMOM here. My D received an email on Tuesday stating that she was going to get a letter offering her the Madison Acheivement Scholarship. We were surprised since we also thought that we wouldn’t hear about it until April. I hope your S gets one too so that he can go to his first choice. Congratulations to him (and you) on the other scholarship! Hope you hear soon.

He did get it - was a complete (and happy) suprise! So JMU it is! Congrats to you and your daughter!

So happy for you and your son!!!

Congrats to both your children…would you mind posting their stats.

Thanks

has anyone heard back from the college of integrated science and technology regarding scholarships?

S received his letter for Madison Achievement too. Kind of kicking myself now that I didn’t have him apply to the honors college, but he was trying to hurry and get his app. in EA. Ah well, I guess if he does end up attending JMU, he can apply to honors college after first semester from what I as reading.

S just got his letter today (2/21) offering him the Madison Achievement Scholarship. Interesting that they want him to send back the letter (either accepting or declining the scholarship) by April 1st even though he won’t necessarily have made his final decision until May 1st as to which college he will attend.

LR4150 congrats! What was your son’s gpa/SAT?

Should I assume I didn’t get any merit money if I did not receive an email? :(
