Is anybody here on magnet?
I just want to know because ppl who ask to be chanced they have all these classes that are Pre-AP and honors. Would magnet advanced classes rank higher or lower than the latter?

It depends on the magnet school. I would say that most magnet schools are tougher than normal school's AP and honor classes, though I know of a few local magnets that it's not true for.

the school i go to is considered the best in the county, but we're charter and we only have a magnet program. Together charter and magnet is almost half the school and the rest are AYP.

then don't worry about it. if you take the toughest available classes and do well, you'll be fine. Colleges don't count it against you if your school doesn't offer AP classes, and if you're doing something even tougher, more power to you.

thnx. I really appreciate it.

I go to an all magnet school, so I can't really tell you if it will bump up your rank. However, I have friends in a Pre-med program and they're the top of their class, so I would think so. If the program is IB, then it probably will bring up your rank as long as you get good grades in your IB classes. Also, in order to see if you'll get your rank up, look at the 4 year schedule for each program and each grade in order to to see if you're choosing the most rigorous and and helpful classes.

It really depends on the school. Magnets differ from each other a lot.

yeah, if you stick them together the wrong way, they repel, just watch out
