I would like to buy my books now but would need them shipped to UCLA (because by they time they got to my home i'd probably already be in LA) so i was wondering if they mailbox numbers were assigned so i could do this. also, what are our addresses? (are they all the same except for our mailbox number, or does it matter which dorm? im in hedrick).

thannnnks.

oh and...do professors ever list books and then on the first day of class it turns out we don't need them? that would suck...

Why not schedule it for a pick up when you order it online? And usually the professor doesn't list an unnecessary book (also, the class has been taught numerous times over the years w/ that same book so no reason why the professor would make a mistake when it's listed as the class textbook), but if you find out that you yourself don't need the textbook if you find it cheap somewhere else or decide to just borrow it off a friend, I think there's a two week returning span where you can get your full money back if you don't break any plastic seals if it's sealed, or don't open the CD-rom sealed compartment, etc.

yeah but i'm not buying the books from ucla, that would be a waste of money, so i can't really pick them up, plus i live in chicago soo...yeah...but thanks, so you think ucla will hold the books that are sent to me till i get there?

You must include your mailbox number in your address. Your mailbox number will be made available to you upon check in. To avoid delays, please have sender use your name registered with UCLA. Due to limited storage, mail and packages sent to the residence halls prior to check-in may be returned to sender, so please plan accordingly.

They have a list of people who are moving into the halls. They don't send your stuff back, but keep it in a nice large pile of all the stuff people have sent there despite not knowing their box number. No worries.
