<p>For current Michigan students, what do they do with mail that comes to your dorm after you go home for the summer? Do they leave it there? Throw it away? Or send it to your house?</p>

<p>You leave them a forwarding address, where they will send your mail for I believe the first 6 weeks or so after the end of the school year. After that, I'm not sure what they do with it.</p>
<p>That's supposed to be what happens, although in practice I haven't received any mail forwarded after I moved out of the residence hall. Also, anything you receive that cannot be forwarded (i.e. magazines) is discarded.</p>
