Mail Notification of Acceptance...?

Got my acceptance letter yesterday. It mentioned 25,000 applications were sent in. I wonder how may acceptance? Thank God i applied EA.

anyone notice the typo on the second to last paragraph on the letter? It seems like they copy and pasted that paragraph twice and bolded it lol.

SideOneTrackTwo- Early Action letters. Most of us found out online about a month ago, but haven't gotten the letter till now.

I wouldn't expect the regular decison applicants to find out until march online, and then getting a letter in april. That sounds possible to me.

And MONKEII - I didn't notice it, but someone else on the facebook group mentioned it.

I just got mine today! However, it says that I'm admitted to Harpur but I applied to SOM. I called and they said some letters were mistakenly mailed out and I'll be getting a SOM letter soon. Ughh lol

bbyy - I heard everyone got a letter saying Harpur.
And by the huge ass typo and the whole harpur thing, they're not doing so well organizationally this year.

got the acceptance letter today

i got mine too

and FWIW, it said "to the School of Management"

fwiw? 10characters...

FWIW = for what it's worth

in other words, it said that I got into SoM on my letter, if that makes any difference to any of you

Right right, I just didn't know what FWIW meant.
I like that abbreviation.

got mine today!! They said that they only admitted 1/10 kids? Is this true? If it is, WOOHOO!

you have to be careful how you read these claims by colleges -- if they say there were 25,000 applicants for 2500 seats in the freshman class that tells you NOTHING about how many were actually accepted since not everyone who is accepted attends. 25,000 applications to get 2500 enrollees -- you don't know how many acceptances are in the middle of that equation.

this shows you the rate of acceptances over the past few years -- http://admissions.binghamton.edu/measureofexcellence.pdf it also shows there has been a pretty steady trend of more applications and lower acceptance rate, so one could probably guess that this year the acceptance rate is going to be at least slightly less than the 40% for 2007.

when does regular decision come out?

mrsunnyng - I know someone who got into the human development program RD, but I think as far as RD is normally concerned, probably march 15th or so.

If anybody knows for sure, then correct me on that.

Got my letter as well. Excited!

Fzr - Are you deff. going to Bing?

Not 100% sure, I'm split between 3 schools (still waiting on the other 2 descisions) and I like them equally so far. I saw your thread that you also got into SBU, congrats!

Fzr - Thanks. But the Binghamton acceptance does mean a lot more, since it's my second (well it's a tie for second) choice.

Stony Brook is still on Long Island, and I wanna get off this Island.

Cool, thanx for the data.
I guess I overlooked that...they did say you are 1 in 10 students, but I guess it was enrolled not accepted...my mistakt :0

In the future, could everyone post if they applied ED or RD. It's easier to keep track that way. Did anyone that has been accepted apply RD (other than the one student in Human Development)?
