I'm going to be mailing ALL parts of my applications.

I'm going to be applying to schools like Harvard, Yale, Princeton, etc.

What do I put for the CAID (common app ID) part of my application?
Can someone explain what the ID is?

Thanks.

A Common App ID is issued to every individual who registers an account at commonapp.org. If you don’t have an online account, you won’t have a Common App ID.

You are welcome to complete your forms by hand and mail them, but you should be aware that every single Common App members prefers that you apply online. What you should NOT do is complete the form online and then print a copy to mail. We can’t prevent this, but we discourage it (at the request of the colleges) by printing a big “PREVIEW” watermark across the printed version

I am not going to complete it by hand. I am using PDF software to type my responses on the form but I just like physically mailing the applications.

This way:

“PREVIEW” won’t be written on the app.
My responses will be typed.
My application will be mailed, not submitted online.

Since I don’t have an online account, should I just leave the CAID blank? or write N/A?
