I am considering sending my Common Application (transfer student) by mail.
I worked very much on the format of my essays and am very concerned about losing it if I choose to submit them online.

I’ve never used the Common App, so I don’t really know.
Since I read on Barnard’ website that we can send it either way, I thought it was OK.

But I would like to hear your opinion. Do you have any experience with it or know someone who mailed the application?

Would it make me look bad if I choose not to send it online?
What if they don’t receive the package? Is there any danger?

My daughter mailed all of her common app applications (7 years ago). Similar concern - it was easier for her to work with paper than the common app web site. I would hope they have improved the web site since then, but I wouldn’t really know.

Anyway, she did get accepted to Barnard & other colleges. She did some online submissions, just not for any of the common app schools.

I don’t think it could hurt you in any way. Send the package in a way that it can be tracked – priority mail with a tracking number is fine, as it will show you the delivery date.

Hi Calmon, I was so glad when I saw your reply! Thank you so much.
I seem to get more and more nervous as the deadline approaches.
I am concerned about how I should present my essays. Should I use special folders? Should I have the supplement forms with my answers in one folder and the common app. in another?
