It has never been officially released in the previous years but consensus have been to be around 20%. This will be the first year that Caltech will declare the number of Early applicants and the acceptance rate according to the director's blog.

^ so not that big of a diff from reg? Its what i expected. Wished cal tech did ed lol.

Trickstylez, I wish they did ED too, I also found a website that has some stats on admittance rates, i'm not sure how accurate they are though...they say EA is about 36% (which is a big surprise to me, if anything I'd think it would be lower)
Caltech Guide

again, I wasn't able to find the years this guide applies to, and I dont know how reliable the source is

yeah actaully i have seen this site too before. Thats one of the main reasons i asked cos i don't know how accurate that 36% is.

I suppose there's no refresh button on my mailbox.

.> <.<

I'm int'l. I wish I would receive an email from Fedex. so freaking out..

From College Guide:
Overall Acceptance Rate:
14%
Early Action Acceptance Rate:
36%
Regular Acceptance Rate:
17%
The above number doesn't make sense as the overall acceptance rate cannot be lower than lower acceptance rate of the Regular Decision as the number of applications should be more during the regular decision.
If the overall and Regular decision are swapped then it still make sense.

It's weird how the decisions have been mailed, yet there is no 'Official EA Decisions Thread'... ;)

^ its interesting, a lot of the other colleges also don't have the offical ea thread. Maybe our class has decided to set a new precedent and form outta the mold.

or just the first person who hears back and actually gets in and cares enough to start one will start it sometime tomorrow or the day after.

Just so you are forewarned, if you live in the rural areas of the midwest, the mail may take many days longer than most others. The waiting at this point is very difficult. Good luck to all.

You guys are so lucky. I'm jealous, ED for Rice doesnt come out until Dec 15 :(
