When will Amherst mail out there decisions?

I heard decisions will be mailed on April 1st. International applicants will hear a little earlier via e-mail. I applied ED and was told that decisions would be mailed on Dec 15. I received my letter of admissions on Dec. 15th.....so you may actually hear something a day or two prior to the April 1st.

it kinda sucks that they don't post the decisions online:(

I don't understand Amherst. Why not release admission decisions online?

I've said this elsewhere.. but I'll say it again.

Nothing can replace the experience of receiving that coveted letter from admissions. While it may be not be the best for the environment, either do weddings and we're not suggesting that right of passage be done away with. Also... There is a level of security in mailings that cannot be said for the internet. And those schools new to the all the online verifications, application tracking, etc, may not prefer that last most important step be left to the computer where human error could tell rejected students congrats and accepted students to check out community college (not that there is anything wrong with CC, but it's not Amherst).

Finally, The Dean of Admissions at UChicago came to our school in the fall and said the happiest times for admissions is the time after they've left the admissions office and before they've reached their destinations. And for me, that's all the reason I'd need if I were them!

I received my waitlist letter on the 27th, if that's any comfort to you. =P

Incidentally, it was signed, and dated the 27th, too.

wait, im confused, today's is the 26th....

kwu is talking about last year

ohhhhh

now i feel dumb :(

Is there any chance we will receive decisions tomorrow?

Actually, I would think there would be a good chance if what kwu says is true. Actually, last year the 27th was Thursday, so..

My friend is visiting the college with her son and was told by Admissions department that they mailed their letters today!

O.O

O.o

o.O

so im hearing from amherst where i'm a sure reject, and wesleyan, which is my number 1. i will die if im rejected from both on the same flippin day

Well.. if they mailed today, we wont be seeing it here in the midwest until Saturday at the earliest. Sunday looks to be one painfully long day - not fun -- and on Monday spring break ends and it'll be time to head back to school.

Two rejections in one day would be bad, but two acceptances would be awesome. Put the positive energy out there Tomboneplayer91!!!!

hope for the best, expect the worst

The prospect of this letter coming tomorrow (I'm in NY, it's possible if they really did mail them already) is terrifying. Amherst is in a three way tie for my #1 and I know I'm not getting in but I thought I'd be able to wait until the first!

Getting the rejection via snail mail sounds much more appealing then on a website. I cannot WAIT!!

I live in California. So. Looks like I'll be rushing home every day to check the mail next week. :(

at this point ill just be happy to have my rejection and get on with it
