Mailing Labels

Alright, this may seem like a stupid question. But ever since I went on Stanford's site and saw that they require mailing labels for teacher recs, school reports, etc, I've been wondering: do all private schools that require these reports need mailing labels?

Can't I just simply write the Admissions Office address on the manila envelope, as provided on the Common Application?

Thanks.

Anyone? I know, this is stupid...but I'd rather not risk violating some random requirement for each school by writing the address on the envelope.

Yes I noticed that too so I'm using their mailing labels obviously...I don't think it matters though unless they specifically say (like Stanford does).

But some don't even provide mail labels? Ah, I think I'll just MAKE labels for those who don't provide them.

I used the Stanford mailing labels... I guess it's also a way of seeing whether you pay attention to instructions? For other schools I printed my own "mailing label"... looks neater too. ^^

I haven't seen any other schools ask for mailing labels. I think Stanford's rules about sending material are a lot pickier than most other schools - regulating envelope size, mailing labels, etc.
