mailing time...

now that Schwaby assures us that mails are sent out on friday.... would friday be considered as one of the 'business days' that it takes for the mail to arrive?

does anyone know how long it will take to get to west coast? vancouver?

priority mail --> 3 business days so prolly tuesday

FedEx if you're accepted!!

I'll fear for the worst if I hear nothing by Wednesday, max. If I can keep myself from calling before that.

FedEX for canadians too? i thot only overseas... buit 3 days.. does friday count as one day? friday, sat, monday?

hmm sorry i dunno if priority mail or fedex for canadians

no weekends are not business days, it would be

friday, monday, receive tuesday

what about for an east coaster?

no no, children. i sent my slides priority mail to princeton on a friday (it was october 15th, the due date) and the little screen popped up and said "delivery date: monday"

so i know for me, i will be recieving my decision on monday.

and for you all, saturday is a day of business at the postal service.....in case you hadn't noticed for the past 18 years of your life.

lol yea mail on saturday =) They'll probably send late on friday, so hopefully I'll get it monday!

Postal service works on Saturday. Which means we will probably hear tuesday, if they use USPS. First class and priority usually take the same amount of time, especially for small things like letters. Even if deferral/rejection letters are sent first class, I don't see why it would arrive later than tuesday.

However, Fedex has a variety of options. If they send them overnight, it would still take until monday to get to the west coast, per fedex website and princeton/my zip codes. If they do fedex 2nd day, it would arrive tuesday. fedex super saver is given as wednesday.

yea, the lady at the post office, when i sent the slides priority kept telling me i was wasting my $$$ and that they would arrive on the same day.

I don't think it's fedex if you're accepted. It's priority mail, only because it's heavier, but it's still through the USPS

i meant fedex for accepted intls. americans get priority mail, afaik.

So how long would it take to get to my house in central Jersey? Could it possibly come on Saturday?

If they send it on Friday, it'll probably come on Saturday, ForeverZero.

Wow, I'm suddenly a lot more nervous. I could hear from them in a few days. I've never had such mixed feelings for my mailbox. I'm ready to either bow down to it or destroy it.

me too! I need for it to not be FedEx because I have to pick up the letter without my parents seeing it - they don't want me to go to Princeton and get on my case everytime it somehow comes up.... sigh

oh my secretive life. They think all I've applied to is NYU and St. John's University (eww). :-)

lol whoa that's crazy. They don't even know that you've applied? So, um, in the case that you get in, will they be happy or curse you for making them pay tuition?

I'm still amazed. Just how did you manage to keep it from them?

oh, my parents werent too involved in the application process until about a month ago... I mean, i left all my princeton flyers lying around for them to know that I'm obsessed with the school but they chose to deny that I was doing anything. Basically, I sent in my app and they only found out when the interviewer called and my dad happened to pick up - that kind of caused a panic...

If I actually get in, I'm going.... With Princeton's Grants-to-pay-for-loans program, I figure I should be good financially - and I would get plenty of financial aid anyway, we sure are corporate failures in this household

;-)

either way, I'm going to be religiously checking my mailbox starting monday

do they use fedex for canadians? does anyone know by any chance? thx!
