when regular mailing a letter, how much days does it take for it be sent from Washington to California.
a deadline for something is March 1st. If i'm planning to send it regularly without aditional fees, how many days should i send prior to the due date.

If the due date is march 1st, im pretty sure you only need to have it postmarked by march first.

If it has to be there 3/1, to be safe I would have sent it yesterday. But today, 2/25, should work. If it's critical that it be there 3/1, I would spend the extra bucks and I would use FedEx or UPS 2 or 3 day service. I would not rely, personally, on USPS overnight or other special services as their delivery dates are "estimates", not guarantees like UPS and FedEx. But lollipop may well be correct that it's a postmark deadline. Check the school's instructions carefully.

I'm going to retract the above, as I forgot that, it being February, we only have 3 days left before 3/1  ! At this point, I wouldn't trust regular mail, personally, if it actually has to arrive by 3/1.

First choice for cheapness, imo, would be to submit online if you can. If not, use UPS or FedEx.

And remember, you can't use Fed Ex or UPS to a post office box!

could anyone tell me how to use UPS or FEDEX???

.....pls...........

I am afraid I don't understand. What do you mean, "how to use" them?

oh.. i mean how do you send it through FeDex?
do i need to get a special envelope or go to a mailing place?

Go to a fedex location. It is a completely separate business from the US post office. I think you can also do it online at fedex.com, but I am not sure exactly how that works.

Fed Ex bought Kinkos a while back. Just take your package to the closest Kinkos, bring a credit card and they will take care of everything else.
