Mailman School of Public Health

Hey Columbia thread =).

I'm looking into public health schools (for an MPH or PhD with a focus on scientific research in Environmental and Occupational Health), and was wondering if any of you have had experience with the professors or students there or even just the department in general. If so, what are they like/ how does the atmosphere seem?

Cheers!

Are you applying for admissions for the Spring? or the 08-09 academic year?

I'm prob the only one who can comment on this in any respect. I'm gonna be starting a 2 yr MPH there this coming school year in the dept of epidemiology....i dont really know how well i can answer any of these questions yet. What i can answer for sure now though is that PhD is very selective....if you dont have a few years of work experience before you apply (at least) then you most probably wont get in. Let me know if there is more i can help you with or hit me up after september and i'll be able to answer your quesitons better.
