My counselor told me that I need to keep an unweighted 3.0 GPA so that my acceptances can't be rescinded. Does this mean a 3.0 for the entire senior year, or do I have to get separate 3.0's for each semester? So could they rescind my acceptances if I have a 3.2 unweighted first semester and a 2.8 second semester, or would that count as a 3.0?

UC's use their own weighted system. You should be fine.

They use their own weighted system for admissions and almost everything else, except that they can rescind your admission if you get under a 3.0 unweighted during senior year.

I just found out from a friend that it's by semester, so I'll need a 3.0, not a 2.8, this semester.

They don't usually do it, but Cal (i.e., UC Berkeley) and UCLA especially got tons of applications this year. I'm going to Cal, and they and UCLA rescind admissions more than other UC's.
