My mid semester grades were outstanding this year (prbly the reason i got in), BUT EVERYTHING IS ON A MAJOR DECLINE.. like from As to Bs.. and GOSH I HOPE NO Cs

When would you say is the danger zone of having the offer taken back??? Furthermore, if all final grades come out to be Bs, is one OK??

or should i start filling out apps for community college (jk. im not ignorant)

also, i feel im getting dummer, my comprehensive abilities failing.. HELP!

don't fret- mcgill will not take your offer away. i too had serious senioritis and slacked off last semester- everyone does- just graduate thats all they care about.

I'd try not to get more than 1 C. But Mcgill isn't going to revoke your offer because your grades went to Bs..heck no.

I too am suffering from this incurable disease! But I went to the McGill Rendezvous session tonight in Vancouver, and she basically said that unless you fail a course, they will not take away their offer.

So am I! I'm sure they EXPECT your average to drop, atleast a bit. It's something almost everyone goes through. Try your best to keep your marks up, but if not, no big deal!

does anyone know how many points on the IB we have to get to keep our offer

i am pretty sure i will be getting no where near my predicted grades

NO!!!!!!! rideltrain and harpgirl! ur supposed to threaten me (us)! that's the only way i (we) can actually PASS and turn in homework in these (our) bloody classes!
- about the above post, they just want you to get your diploma (that's what they told me :D ) so... 24... but since they'd like you to get at least 5's on your HLs, that's at least 27 then, and no one seems to care about bonus points nowadays

The letter I received said, "contingent upon your obtaining your IB Diploma" how's that for pressure????

Never mind, if I don't obtain the Diploma after all this work well then, what was the point of it all?

obtain diploma?

lol...well too late now...already finished 4 of my exams and send in all the course work

hope i pass

Yea, my understanding is that all you need to do is obtain your IB diploma. However, I did also hear that in order to obtain your diploma you also need to get a minimum of 12 points on all three of your higher level courses. That might be a rumour, so take it with a grain of salt. Plus, I don't think you're allowed for fail any of your IB exams, unless it still adds up to 24. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll all do fine. The exams this year weren't too bad..except math. One more subject to go...

wait.. i was never a diploma student.

I just took certificates. Some of which im afraid of not passing.......

well then you don't have to worry about whether or not you'll get your diploma. How do they take your IB certificates into consideration? When I applied they said that they wouldn't take my IB marks into consideration because it should be reflected in my regular grades. IB helps you out in this respect because sometimes, but not always, it inflates your mark. anyway, the conditions should be specified on the letter of acceptance.

also. i dont think i will be getting any credit for any of my HL IB tests. Its b/c im in engineering and i read somewhere that i wouldnt be able to get any credit

I have 4 Hls and 3 Sls. Two exams left --Physics -Sl and French Hl.

Sorry, my error on the above--4 Hls and 2 Sls (not 3).

hey, i'm doing physics SL too! I really suck at physics, but I just can't bring myself to study. Doesn't doing french at HL give you some sort of bilingual status or something? I heard something to that effect going around, although everyone at our school was doing french at SL.

I wish that doing French at HL gave me bilingual status--it is still hard. I have no one to speak French with--remember, I live in the States.
My parents are bilingual but not in French.
Physics is hard but I have a good teacher.

don't worry, I don't have anyone to speak french to either. I try to watch french tv once in a blue moon but I just unconsciously tune it out, so it's pretty useless. French is definately one of the harder languages to learn. So many conjugations and stuff. Took me ages to memorize all the irregular verbs. Physics shouldn't be that hard. The only problem is our teacher likes to teach us too much, never gives us homework, and we never understand what he's teaching. It's really hard to understand when he's teaching us one thing and then two seconds later tell us that was actually a lie and that physics in the real world happens the complete opposite way or whatever. It's just really confusing.

sounds like mine!
i also have french hl n physics sl left
it's if you take french A1 or A2 as well as another language (for me english A1) at the same level that you can get a bilingual diploma, which i'm hoping for
