I got my ACT Score for the September test and got a 34 - I was very happy until I realized I completely forgot about the essay. My essay score, I am guessing, will be in the very low 20’s because I ran out of time. However, when I took the ACT in February, I got a 32 but my ACT Essay score was a 27 which I am fine with. My question is are you allowed to send an ACT Essay score from a previous date, but send a separate composite score? I’m worrying that colleges won’t appreciate my composite score if my essay score is bad. Any help is appreciated!
You can’t mix and match. Send both and let them take the parts they want.
There’s no way your essay will be in the low 20’s. The new scoring scale only rates you from 1-12. Plus, colleges aren’t really looking at the essays this year, so you’re off the hook, and congrats on your score.
^ I don’t think it can be 1. It should be 2-12. The ACT essay score scale has been changed back and forth within the last couple years.
