major admissions error

my friend received an email from financial aid congratulating him. he later received an email from admissions saying that it has come to their attention that financial services was so excited about his admissions that they alerted him early. they said "admissions decisions are not quite ready, but will be released tomorrow"

does this mean all admissions decisions will be released for tomorrow? did anyone else receive this error?

Mass decisions are always released on a Thursday. Although it is usually the second or third week in March. If the admissions portal is down tomorrow morning then decisions will be released after 3 PM. If the portal is up in the morning, then your friend may be part or the early release of decisions for top applicants that has been going on for a couple of weeks.

I got the same emails. hoping for the best/a decision tomorrow. got deferred when I applied EA earlier this year

Aww man. My email said that my Financial aid wasn’t completed yet, so there was no premature decision included. It only said that decisions would be released separately. Decisions coming tomorrow would really come as a surprise.
Also, what could the final step be that decides that an extra day is needed for decision releasing?

I got an email saying my FinAid application was incomplete too, Fizz14. It was strange because I submitted CSS weeks ago, and it’s listed as received on the Collegeboard’s CSS Profile page.

This is very early for decision notification, but it’s always possible. Last year they released decisions around March 15th.

Does this apply to Transfer applicants as well, because for Transfers it says admission decisions will be released on a rolling basis staring february 1st, which would mean that tomorrow is not so early. When will transfers find out? Thanks!

Is there a place on the portal to check that financial aid info has been submitted? I couldn’t find it if it’s there.

My D rcv’d an email from Financial Aid saying congrats please submit you CSS then later admissions said oops official notice will be sent tomorrow.

So is it official that it’s actually tomorrow? That seems extremely soon. Wasn’t it on the 22nd last year?
Also, Longsx3^ could you tell us what time your daughter received that email?

ya do you think it’s even possible that they would have all the decisions ready to release tomorrow?

It’s possible that it’s tomorrow but it will most likely be next thurs. (3/14), which would follow the pattern from EA this year and RD years past as it being the thursday in the middle of the month.

just tried to go onto the application check and got this message:

“The application status check is not available at this time. You will be notified regarding your decision at the e-mail address provided in your application”

Also it said that due to “high traffic” it may be unable to login. seems like they are putting all the info on tonight so it’s available tomorrow (today if not on West Coast)

My application status page looks the same as always. Are they going to release decisions in spurts then? Will some people find out tomorrow, and the rest in the next few weeks?

This makes me sad. I was hoping to have my decision by tomorrow. Alas, it’s not meant to be.

^ Yeah mine is exactly the same unfortunately.

Were you guys deferred EA or just applying RD? It’s possible they’re only releasing decisions for people who applied RD and deferred EA applicants will hear another day.

I applied RD.

I was also hoping to have already had a decision by now, since Northeastern is my safety.

I got deffered. although, Northeastern was one of the first schools to send me any answer then

no one else is applying as a transfer? I thought we found out before freshman??

Is anyone besides hockey’s portal locked?

I applied EA and got deferred. Didnt see that message this morning but it may change.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using CC

It sure seems like those finaid people were not quite correct
