Major and Minor

So, I really want to be a financial analyst and then eventually a manager. I was thinking of majoring in finance and minority in either psychology because I have an interest in it or should I minor in a math related class? Also speaking of math I am not terrible at math but once I get it and how to solve problems I create a set of steps that make sense to me which helps me solve problems so I am not the one to undestand everything after 1 lecture is finance a good major for me if not I want to go in the business field and have a higher chance of getting a job quickly after college? Thanks in advance

Yes, you can major in finance and minor in psychology. As long as you take the math classes necessary to complete your finance major and do well in the business there’s not necessarily a need to minor in it. Once you get to college, your academic advisor can help you figure out what those are.

I don’t really understand your second question, but it seems to be about how good you need to be at math to succeed in finance. It kind of depends. If it takes you a bit longer to get the math, but you eventually get it, that can be okay - but it depends on how much work you’re willing to put in and how long it takes. If it’s taking you 3 lectures to get what everyone else is getting in 1, then you’re going to be a week or so behind your classmates and may struggle to keep up. If it means you have to study several hours each week after each lecture to make it all make sense…well, that’s kind of what you’re supposed to do anyway.
