Hey, I'm considering applying for an US uni 2010 (i'm from sweden)

But what is the diffrence between a major and a minor, I know that you can get a bachelor from a major.
But how 'bout a minor? What is that? Do I get an degree, can I combine tv

A major is like your area of expertise, a minor is more like an area that you know quite a bit about, but generally not enough to specialize in it. For example, at my university you're major generally requires about 30 credit hours, and you have to declare a major. A minor on the other hand requires only around 15 credit hours, and is completely optional. You can not get a degree with a minor alone, and while some uni's will allow two minors, you'd still have to select a major also.

Yeah, minors are sort of like half majors. They're something you usually get to compliment your major (or not, some minor in things totally unrelated to their major). Your major is your primary focus of study, you can have more than one major. Some schools let you have as many as you want, it is not unheard of to have double, triple, or even quadrouple majors. Usually these people know exactly what they want to do very early and all their majors are in related fields that share requirements. For minors, some schools limit how many you can have, others don't.
