So I am finishing up deciding what to take junior year. What looks better on college apps: ap java, ap world, ap art history, or ap Econ? Which class looks the best on college apps? Thanks for the help.

AP World and AP Econ. Some colleges don’t award any credits for AP Java. I don’t know much about AP Art History.

What’s AP Java? AP Computer Science?

I think AP CS would be the best option honestly.

Yes ap comp sci is ap java. But why is ap comp sci the best option? And isn’t AP Econ (macro and micro) looked down upon by collleges? Thanks. Would it be best if I just took AP Art History? Colleges won’t look down upon that class right?

What are you majoring in? If you think you might be headed towards a STEM program then AP CS is a good choice. I’d pick that and AP WH.

So ap Econ (macro and micro) are considered easy by adcoms? :/

bumpppppp for more advice THANKS

Yeah the course is easy, thats why only 13% get a 5 on macro and 16% get 5 on micro, which is lower than chem… And my HS requires you to take Economics to graduate, and if yours doesn’t thats quite a poor system…

@dragooner4 yeah my hs didnt require econ thats why im going to comunity colege now no univerites acepted me

Gaowih - I highly doubt the fact that you didn’t have Econ was a major factor (if at all) in your admissions outcome. This years incoming freshman are the first that have an Econ requirement at our hs. We don’t offer AP Econ. For years students have been accepted to elite universities from our school without taking Econ. You can’t take what’s not offered and admissions readers judge you based on your high school, what was offered, what top students are doing there, and what you took advantage of.

Bumpppppppppppp

BumPppppopppppo

It is sometimes a dilemma. Having an AP related to your intended major may be good for your application, however, it is also likely that it cannot be counted for credit. I think getting accepted is far more important than getting the credit.

@FireLion stop bumping, everyones already ofered input now dont be selfabsorbed

AWw thanks for ur post u bumped my thread up
