Major: Biology vs. Nursing

I am contemplating double majoring in Biology and Nursing. I know 10 classes over lap. I am wondering if I were to take the higher level maths or sciences (biology has harder sciences, nursing has higher math classes) if they wouldnt count toward both majors. For example, nursing requires statistics and college algebra. Biology requires pre-calculus and analytical geometry.

Would that be too hard of a course load? How many semesters/years would be added on to double major with that, you think?

I plan on taking 2 classes starting June 6, 2008. I will then take a full load for the fall, winter and spring semester. Then they have 2 seperate summer "semesters" one from may 9th-may 20th and another from june 6th- july 30th in which I could take 4 classes.

bumping this to the top

Re: whether or not to do it: What are your career goals? Do you plan to be a high school teacher, as your name indicates?
Re: class load: These are fairly compatible majors, so maybe an extre semester (if you want to graduate on time, take classes in the summer) but not too much more if you buckle down. And you'll have to take the reqs for both, so yes, that would be all 4 math courses.

Uh... well if you want to be a nurse, major in nursing. That's really all there is to it. Otherwise, major in bio.
