Major Change, Drop out CSU for CC to transfer?

Alright, I'm currently a second semester freshmen at CSUN and I want to pursue Software Engineering. Since CSUN doesn't offer a BS in Software Engineering, I decided to change my major from Multimedia to Computer Science in hopes to take courses that are required in order to transfer to Cal Poly Slo into SE. I also did this in case I'm not accepted in Cal Poly Slo SE program. My question is whether I should I should just attend a CC and then attempt to transfer, or just stay at CSUN continuing my plan? I commute to CSUN as well.

Say in CS at CSUN. Most CS majors work as software engineers, you don’t need that specific major. Just take your electives in more SE related coursework. Dropping down to CC won’t give you the same range of classes. It’s fine if you get accepted as a transfer but not too bad for you if you don’t.

Yes, just major in CS. Note that some software engineering courses at CSUN (380/L, 490/L, 491L) are required for the CS major anyway.
