Major Change to Chemical Engineering for Chemistry

I will be a freshman at Texas A&M in the fall, majoring in Chemistry, and have thought about applying to change my major to Chemical Engineering after my freshman year. Has anyone done this? What GPR do I need to keep? What actions can/should I take now to smooth this process?

Additionally, I have AP credits for Math 151/152, Chem 100/101, and Phys 208/218, should I take these credits?

Gig’em and thanks

Contact Chemical Engineering department directly and ask. Internal transfers are done by department.

You will need a math and science taken at TAMU to help you get into your Engineering major. My son used his 151 credit and his Physics 208 credit, but decided to take 152 and 218 at TAMU. The Physics classes are extremely challenging, but I also think each department uses them to help determine who to accept. Just my opinion.
