Major changes, orientation placement tests, etc.

<p>Hi, I currently have been trying to change my major from History to Business admin, and marshall said it would email me when they have decided to accept the change or not. Well after filling out my orientation reservation today, it said i have been admitted to BUAD major. Does this mean, I have been accepeted to Marshall as a business major this fall? I was also checking the pre-orientation homeowork, and i see stuff like math, chemistry, and foreign language placement test. Do all freshmen have to take these? and do they have an impact on the classes you get/ proffessrs? or is it just bs. Thanks!</p>

The USC Center for Testing and Assessment administers placement tests for undergraduate students in mathematics, chemistry, and foreign language to ensure that you are advised properly and enroll at the appropriate level to begin your studies. In addition, placement tests help fulfill some skill level requirements.

Business (Business students do not have a Foreign Language requirement, but are still required to take the Placement Test)

Students who plan to enroll in the following courses should take the Mathematics Placement Test:
Any mathematics course, either by choice or because it is required by your major or pre-professional status (see below for a list of majors with a math course requirement)
The following majors have a math course requirement:
Business

Yes, everyone has to take them. No, you don’t have to take the chemistry one. Regardless of how you do, any AP/IB/college credit will take precedence over how you do on the tests. It won’t have an impact on any Business classes you take.</p>
