MAJOR college mess.

Ok, so I recently graduated from high school and am planning on going to art school in Portland, OR to get my BFA in communication design. I kind of "messed up" in High School and did not until my senior year really decide what I need to do/ or what is important. Well, I've recently realized I want to get my BA in Political Science because I want to eb a lobbyist for Veteran's Affairs. I'm even considering a plan to put a plaque in the Vietnam Wall memorial area commemerating the 156 Medal of Honour Recipients of the war who died.
Basically, I don't want to get my BFA but I would need to go to community college and transfer. Should I get my BFA in Communication design while also studying at communtiy college, and then get my BA? I think i'd also get my MA too.

I just feel all the money for the BFA would go to waste. Save money?
Ideas?

Dont go for your BFA in communication design. I would advice going to community college. Some schools dont allow you to pursue a second bachelor’s degree once you’ve already received one. they’ll just tell you to go get your master’s.

i was in a similar situation, where i actually was pursuing a design field and earning my BFA, i left my art school because I want more than just learning how to do a job. I’ve interviewed at some of the schools i’m interested in transferring to and some have said that stopping now to do community college is smart because once you get that 1st bachelor’s some schools wont allow you to pursue a 2nd bachelors degree at their institution.

Thank you SO much! Ive decided It would be best to do just this.
Thanks
