I was wondering if anyone could talk about their experience or have stats on the major declaration process in the CoE. Do most people get into their first choice, what do you do if you don’t, and can you apply to more than one major?
Thanks

My understanding from campus day is that it isn’t really a competitive application process, and that anyone meeting the correct prerequisites and with an adequate GPA can declare any major within CoE. I believe they rely on your response from the Common App and your essays to ensure they don’t overfill one major over another or something.
GPA must be >2.0 to declare major or stay in CoE. Other than that, only BME has a GPA 3.2 requirement for declaring major. The nice thing to declare major early is the eligibility to departmental scholarships.

The process varies for each major in CoE.
