Major dilemma in UC app

I’m pretty much undecided on my college major, but I’m beginning to suspect there’s an admit rate penalty for applying undecided to UC’s.

I may be reading too much into these admit stats, but the numbers
from the UC statfinder support my suspicion.
[University of California: StatFinder](http://statfinder.ucop.edu/statfinder/default.aspx)

For example, the Berk 2008 stats show 22.1% for in-state undecided
while it is 32.5% for Bio. So I’d be crazy to apply undecided to
Berk L&S, should rather apply to Bio and switch later right?

Or does the data simply mean the Bio applicant pool is skewed with more qualified applicants?

All it means is that the applicant pool is skewed. Berkeley L&S doesn’t even consider the major you put on your application; all freshman are admitted undeclared.
