Major for forensic psychology

Hi! I want to be a forensic psychologist but none of the schools I applied to have that as a major, and I know it is good to get a general major and then specify in graduate school.

Does anyone have advice on whether I should major in Criminal Justice / Criminology or Psychology?

And any other classes I should definitely take?

Thanks!!!

My daughter is interested in the same field. Definitely focus on a general psych degree. Forensics will require an advanced degree.

Specializations in psychology are really done at the graduate level. For undergrad, you should major in psychology (and take classes in criminal justice or criminology if you can).

So when it comes to forensic psychology, WOuld you get a bachelor degree in psyc and then pursue a degree in forensic psychology?

I’m majoring in psychology, and I have so many ideas on what I want to do with it. Law, counseling, forensics, a lot. You can specialize at the graduate level, and for your upperclassmen electives take classes that are geared towards what you want to do after a few years of school to let you think.
