I am not able to see a counselor for two weeks but my registration is here and classes are closing fast. so my question is:

Ive been following the IGETC to transfer to either UCSD/ UCLA. My major is sociology. & on the "student education plan" that my counselor made as far as the classes i need to take in order to transfer, she outlined the courses i need. So after i have finished all the IGETC requirements on this form it says "UC Electives" for a whole semester.

Ive finished the IGETC but still do not have my 60 units to transfer, so im wondering WHAT classes fall under the "UC electives". Is it ANY electives as long as i fulfill the 60 units after IGETC or are there specifications as to which to take?

Did you complete all of the pre-reqs for Sociology according to assist.org? If so, then all you need to do is take any UC transferable courses.

Go to assis.org > click on the drodown and select your current college > at the bottom click on “UC Transferable Courses” > any courses listed on the drop down are transferable

Also, your school catalog should list next to each class whether or not it is UC-transferable. If you’ve completed IGETC, and you’ve completed your major pre-reqs, then you can take any UC-transferable class your heart desires!
