Major ideas please

Hope I'm posting in the right place -
My D, senior 13, excels in math (790 SAT M, 35 ACT M). However it really doesn't interest her and the idea of a math major bores her to tears. She is also interested in pyschology (seems to be a rather popular major these days), possibly social work and has even begun to toy with the idea of Med school in order to be a psychiatrist. What are some areas/majors where she can apply her math ability but not major in math specifically?

Usually accounting specifically comes to mind for those who posses math skills, but prefer not to use them at a higher level for the rest of their lives.

She can also look into school’s Economics programs. Econ programs incorporate a little more math than Accounting, but measurably less than a Math, Stats, or Engineering major. It also touches on psychology based on it loosely being the study of how people make choices. Econ would allow her to go either the PhD route if she was that interested in the science of it, or go into a lot of lines of work with the skills the major should present to her.

A pre-med major like biology or chemistry will be completely different than Accounting or Econ, she should really decide generally which way she wants to go by time she’s a Freshman (at least by second semester of Freshman year). STEM majors usually require a lot more major core classes or sequences of classes, so it’s best to avoid wasting time on those classes if you’re not more difinitive on the major choice.

Other than that, I suppose it sounds like straught psychology or sociology would appeal to her.

Best of luck to her deciding.
