<p>I had mono my sophomore year and I had to miss three months of school. I was able to make up all the work but because there was so much work by grades fell significantly. I had straight A's freshman and junior year, but my sophomore grades are half B's. Will colleges recognize that the year was anomalous because of my illness or will the weigh it equally with other years? </p>
<p>This factor is something you want your guidance counselor to be aware of and to address in his or her letter of recommendation. Occasionally reminding the GC of this event is a good idea.</p>
