Major in Biology?

Hi, I am about to enter my senior year of high school and had a question on whether or not I should be a biology major. This past year, I strongly considered majoring in Biology once I entered college because the subject interests me and I got high marks in my AP Biology class. This past May, I took the AP Bio exam and today I got the results back. I got a 2 on the exam despite thinking I passed it. So should I still pursue becoming a bio major? I really want to enter the medical field and become a primary care physician. Please reply, Thank You.

I wouldn’t disregard the major just because you did poorly on the AP test. Take intro bio in college and see how you do then.

Ap scores are not indicative of how you will succeed in a major. If you want to be a physician, do your best on your mcats, keep your gpa high and get some internships.

Thank you very much! :)

I got a 3 on the AP Biology exam and reconsidered majoring in Bio. I took intro to Bio and legit never got below a 97 on any test. I’ve decided to keep majoring in Biology. Some people just don’t test well and if you’re like me, you struggled with the time allotment. Do what you love! Just take the intro class and see how it goes. You’ll surprise yourself with how much you’ve learned.

Thank You. :)
