I know there is nothing like a premed but what courses I should take which will prepare me better for my MCAT as well as make me stand out as a premed student. I am interested any life sciences as well as Psychology.
You should definitely try to find your university’s prehealth/premed information page, they will have the general prerequisites for premeds in order to succeed on the MCAT, as well as more info about the premed path in general.
Generally doing well on the MCAT requires these classes:
1 year of gen chem
1 year of biology
1 year of organic chemistry
1 year of general physics
1 year/1 semester of biochem
1 semester of stats
1 semester of sociology
1 semester of psych
and there will also be lab component requirements.
Your major does not matter for med school admission: as long as you finish the required classes and take the MCAT, you are equally eligible for med school as any science major. Pick a major you genuinely like, and if you’re not sure, it’s okay to be undecided for a bit, though it sounds like you have a decent idea of what kind of majors you like!
As for standing out, the best way to stand out is to do what you like to do. Take classes that interest you in addition to the premed requirements, do activities that you think you will enjoy.
