Major in Industrial Design

So I’m a sophomore in high school and I’ve been looking at potential career choices. I’ve been undecided for a very long time and I know it’s still a little early to decide, but I have recently learned about Industrial Design, and it seems like the perfect match for me. I wanted to be an engineer, but realized that ID has more of the creative freedom that I like. I’m a very artistic person and make miniatures. I’m not that great at drawing, but I am improving my skills in that area.

Anyway, enough about me, is there anyone who has experience with an Industrial Design major? I’ve been lurking on this forum for a while and haven’t found anything meaningful in this area.

If it makes a difference I’m planning to go to Georgia Tech, which is my dream school.

I’d like to know what courses you took in high school, if you had any internship/volunteer opportunities, and what the course is like. No one in my family has pursued a career in this field so any advice would be appreciated.

Here’s a link to my website if you want to see some of the stuff I’ve made.
