Hey guys. I'm wondering whether it would be appropriate for someone interested in going to medical school to major in kinesiology. I love the human body - the way everything works, interacts, etc.... all so amazing. I want to get to studying it as soon as possible. From what I've read on various kinesiology department pages, it seems as if kinesiology is more for people who want to teach P.E. in primary school, or those that are currently involved in college sports.
I guess the answer is already here. As long as I maintain a high GPA, score high on the MCAT, and satisfy the medical school class requirements, I should have as much of a shot as anyone else... but I guess I just want to hear a yes/no on this specific major just to calm some uncertainty in me. I don't want to compromise what I've worked so hard to try to achieve.

yes, u can major in kinesiology. actually, you can major in anything you want because as long as u have good grades in the premed reqs and a decent MCAT, you are competetive.

what about physiology?

Any major at all is fine for med school, as long as you've done the required coursework. In fact, I've heard some people say med schools like seeing that you've done a non-science-y major, like English or History.

Your major does not matter at all, none hurts you, none helps you. See one of a million threads on this subject - What should a premed major in? - is the big one i think.
