ok so my major is gonna be history when i apply to schools i want to transfer to, Does it give me a better chance getting into a school since history is not such a competitive major? or does my major have no real effect on my acceptance? Any input or thoughts would be great!

I am wondering this as well, if chances are affected by “room in that major” kinda thing.

The answer is yes.

depends on the school - i applied to UMich as a BIO/Polisci double major and got in. Applied to ND as a Liberal Studies major and was rejected - both are comparable with many regards as to how hard it is to get accepted. For ND, it mattered the major i picked where as UM it did not- call admin and see what they say. Talk to an advisor and not a student working there.
