major/minor combo possible?

i'm applying to LSA to a preferred program, architecture.
basically if i'm accepted i'll do pre-arch for two years and then transfer into taubman school of arch to get a b.s. in architecture (i think?)

anyway, i was wondering whether it is possible to get a minor in business as well.
can i major in arch. and minor in some sort of business (not sure yet)?

thanks!

The only way to answer your question is to make a 4 year course outline. Figure out if you can finish in 8 semesters (or fewer!). I doubt there are many architecture majors on this board.

Well I don’t think anyone can minor in Business at Michigan…

^I don’t believe there are any Business minors.

That said, you can definitely minor in Economics and major in Arch

Ross doesn’t offer a minor in business. Economics and business are very different subjects. An economics minor at michigan is not for the faint of heart. You can apply to ross and do a dual degree program, but it is really really tough, you would be taking a full 18 credit course load every semester and you would have no room in your schedule for free or fun class. Even the prearchitecture program is very time consuming.

Im just saying that Econ is probably the closest to Business. Or you can minor in financial/actuarial mathematics but thats a bit different of course.

Since you are planning on studying architecture, I wouldn’t recommend doing a dual degree in architecture and business, seeing that will probably take roughly 6 maybe a bit less to finish.

If you are really interested in business, I would suggest looking into a dual masters degree:
[Dual Degree: Master of Architecture and Business Administration - michigan architecture](http://taubmancollege.umich.edu/architecture/programs/dual_degrees/march_mba/)
Its a three year masters program that will fully provide both business and architecture.
